Adalah sebuah karunia yang begitu tak hingga bagi saya, bisa menjalani bulan Ramadhan dan
perayaan Idul Fitri tahun ini di sebuah negeri yang orang biasa mengenalnya dengan
sakura, ocha, sumo, dan sushi. Oh ya! Tidak lupa juga bahwa tempat yang saya
tinggali sekarang ini terkenal pula dengan teknologinya yang canggih. Ialah Jepang, sebuah nama negara dimana Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University
(APU) megah berdiri di atas salah satu gunung di kota kecil Beppu: tempat saya menggali bekal ilmu sebelum kelak menghibahkan diri untuk umat di
kehidupan sosial nanti.
Dari sekian banyak nikmat-Nya yang tak terhitung, keberadaan satu-satunya masjid di Beppu yang
sejak berdirinya empat tahunan lalu dinamai Central Kyushu Mosque (Masjid Beppu) ini adalah anugerah terbesar yang saya dapatkan. Terlebih, dalam suasana Ramadhan seperti sekarang. Anyway, masjid ini menopang empat lantai dimana lantai duanya difungsikan untuk tempat salat laki-laki dan lantai tiga untuk perempuan. Sementara itu, lantai terbawah dipakai untuk lahan parkir saja sehingga hanya sedikit
menyisakan space yang bisa diinjak bertelanjang alas kaki alias hanya petak
ber-tegel untuk pintu masuk saja yang
disambut dengan tangga menuju lantai dua. Di Ramadhan tahun ini, atas
rahmat-Nya, terjadi perbedaan besar untuk penggunaan lantai empat. Komite
masjid menginisiasi ruang lapang yang tadinya benar-benar tidak terpakai
tersebut menjadi tempat yang semarak selama tiga puluh hari lamanya di
Ramadhan tahun ini. Tersiarlah kemudian ke seantero kota Beppu bahwa Masjid Beppu mengadakan
ifthar bersama yang diperuntukkan bagi siapa saja, baik muslim dan non-muslim sekalipun. Katanya,
untuk dijadikan ajang syiar secara multilateral.
Ada semacam kehangatan yang menguap di lantai tiga. Sepertinya,
kehangatan tersebut berasal dari ukhuwah antara seluruh jamaah laki-laki yang
berlangsung disana dan mungkin juga dari hangatnya nasi biryani yang biasa tersaji
tiga puluhan menit sebelum adzan maghrib digaungkan. Iya, gaung bukan gema.
Karena gema tempatnya di hutan sana, sementara gaung adalah peristiwa pantulan
bunyi di gedung bertembok-tembok. Mungkin, di durasi beberapa menit sebelum
adzan itu juga, sebetulnya tembok-tembok tersebut menggaungkan pula obrolan para tamu masjid yang datang di setiap sorenya. Obrolan soal transfer ilmu, budaya, etika,
dan norma dari negara asal mereka. Pun soal apa yang sudah
seharian dilalui di kampus masing-masing atau di tempat kerja masing-masing. Dan yang
paling penting, obrolan tentang Allah sebagai tuhannya orang Islam, tentang agama samawi-Nya
yang haq, tentang Ramadhan yang
diajarkan oleh utusan-Nya, serta tentang bagaimana menjadi seorang abdi yang berjalan di
bumi-Nya tanpa peduli berapa ribu kilometer jauhnya bagian bumi yang tengah dipijaki
ini dengan kampung halaman disana.
Sesekali terasa lucu, bagaimana bisa
orang-orang dari berbagai macam belahan dunia berkumpul di satu tempat yang
sama, lidah mereka merasai asin-manis yang sama dari menu ifthar yang tersaji, berbicara menggunakan dwibahasa (Inggris dan Jepang), dan
khususnya bagi yang muslim; berdiri di garisan shaf yang sama untuk menyembah Allah dalam salat. Saya kira, hanya Makkatul Mukarromah yang punya fenomena
macam begini, tapi ternyata Masjid Beppu juga punya fenomena yang persis miripnya. Sebagai mahasiswi tahun pertama yang menimba ilmu di negeri
orang, pemandangan semacam ini tentu menjadi hal baru yang sangat menarik buat saya. Pikir saya, ada nilai berharga tersendiri untuk diceritakan ke 'orang
rumah' atau keluarga saya di Indonesia. Ada semacam perasaan khidmat yang berbeda dalam menjalani ibadah shaum di Ramadhan tahun ini dibanding
sanak famili disana.
Kehangatan yang mengelebat di lantai atas masjid juga terjadi di antara jamaah perempuan. Kami
tidak dialihkan ke tempat khusus untuk dibedakan tempat makan dan tempat
salatnya. Ruang yang menggaungkan obrolan semacam tadi, masih ruang lantai
tiga. Bagi saya pribadi, ada perasaan senang tersendiri ketika melihat
perempuan muslim ditanyai soal Islam oleh tamu perempuan non-muslim yang
datang. Atau ketika saya diminta mengajari seorang teman Jepang yang terhitung
baru masuk Islam soal bagaimana melafalkan surat Al-Kautsar dan An-Nashr,
sementara ia menuliskannya di kertas dengan karakter katakana. Di kemudian hari, entah di maghrib yang keberapa dari
hari tersebut, saya mengetes hafalannya untuk dua surat tersebut. Maasyaaa Allah, saya merinding
mendengarnya. Ada semacam perasaan kagum luar biasa mndengar seorang muallaf Jepang yang sudah mantap
berhijab melantunkan hafalan Al-qur’annya dekat sekali dari telinga saya.
Di titik inilah, saya disadarkan bahwa ada nilai kebergunaan yang beruntung saya
raih di Ramadhan tahun ini. Saya jadi membayangkan, kalau saya tidak berada
disini, manfaat macam apa yang bisa saya tularkan kepada yang lain? Sementara
ilmu yang saya punya masih seujung kuku jari. Di tempat dimana Islam adalah minoritas,
ilmu dasar soal agama-Nya seperti rukun iman dan rukun Islam
misalnya, bisa jadi ladang dakwah yang bernilai besar dan esensial sekali. Atau, soal jawaban kenapa tidak mengonsumsi
alkohol dan daging babi. Atau, soal kenapa wanita muslim harus mengenakan selembar kain di
kepala padahal musim panas di Jepang bisa sangat panas sekali. Dengan berada disini, saya seperti disadarkan bahwa sebetulnya Allah sedang memberi saya tempat untuk mengeksplorasi
sisi manfaat diri saya yang bisa jadi tidak seberapa tapi bisa begitu berarti
karena ditempatkannya saya di bagian lain bumi-Nya. Semoga hal kecil yang bisa saya bagi disini bisa bernilai dakwah di mata-Nya. Insyaaa Allah.
